Charlie Van Duyn
Charlie is pleased to join the GGW team as an Associate practicing primarily in Civil Litigation, as well as Real Estate, Construction, and Land Use Law.
A son of the Pacific Northwest, Charlie earned his bachelor’s degree at University of Oregon in 2012 and his Juris Doctor (JD) degree at University of Washington School of Law, graduating in 2022. In school, he focused on a range of real property and environmental topics, including land use law, real estate transactions, natural resources law, water law, and American Indian Law. He served as an Executive Articles Editor for the Washington Journal of Social and Environmental Justice and interned with the school’s Regulatory Environmental Law and Policy Clinic, working closely with a local nonprofit to develop and propose implementation guidelines for a new environmental statute. He also interned with the Tribal Court Clinic as a public defender for the Tulalip Tribe, joining the Tulalip Tribal Bar in 2021.
As an advocate, Charlie delivers rigorous analysis with an easy smile. In 2020, he was awarded for his oral advocacy in a school competition, earning a spot on one of the school’s prestigious Moot Court teams. During his time on the team, he won his region’s Best Brief Award and advanced as one of only 16 schools to the national competition.
With over a decade of life experience on either side of the Cascades, Charlie understands the values that animate communities from the high desert to Puget Sound. He is excited to meet and work for the people of the Wenatchee Valley.
